Welcome to the world of Fleur

I relocated to Dortmund at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and encountered an industrial landscape from the early 20th century—lifeless walls and streets covered in graffiti. The city exuded a sense of desolation. However, during my solitary walks, I began to observe something unexpected: nature breaking through the cracks, wildflowers and plants defiantly sprouting amidst the remnants of forgotten structures. At that time, the future felt uncertain, with each day bringing new restrictions and challenges. Yet, with every walk, a new splash of color would catch my eye, serving as a quiet rebellion against the urban surroundings. This ongoing discovery became the catalyst for my upcoming series, “Wallflowers”—a collection of mixed media canvases, encased in a clear resin that captures and refracts light in surprising ways.

But on lonely walks, I began to notice something unexpected—nature pushing through the cracks, wildflowers and plants growing defiantly against the backdrop of forgotten structures. The contrast was striking: vibrant bursts of life against a grim, decaying landscape.

At the time, the future felt uncertain, each day bringing new restrictions and unknowns.
